Calculation of Commitment Period Reserve (CPR)

In response to ERT’s recommendation, emissions for 2009 were recalculated. Official resubmission was made October 14, 2011.

The calculated reserve value for Ukraine is determined as 100% GHG emissions amount in the last considered Inventory multiplied by 5. In compliance with this Inventory the calculated reserve value is the following:

374 119 680 x 5 =1 870 598 400 t CO₂-eq.

Thus the calculated reserve value as of 31.12.2010 is 1 870 598 400 tons of the carbon dioxide equivalent.

According to the officially published report by the State Environmental Investment Agency of Ukraine “On Holdings and Transactions in the National Electronic Green House Gases Anthropogenic Emissions and Absorption Registry of Ukraine” as of 31.12.2010 the factual commitment period reserve that consists of ERU, CERS, AAU and AU holdings not cancelled according to the 13/CMP.1 decision makes 4 513 865 076 tons dioxide carbon equivalent. At the same time calculated reserve value in Ukraine is less than factual that is in compliance with the requirements applied to the Parties reserve according to the Annex to 11/CMP.1 decision.
